We are a civil and structural engineering firm headquartered in Tewksbury, MA looking for a geospatial technician to assist our survey group. The geospatial technician’s primary functions are to capture LIDAR scan data using laser scanners and drones and working with point cloud data in CAD for generating as-built documentation. This position requires working directly with survey group leaders, project managers, project surveyors, and engineering technicians. You are our ideal candidate if you possess the following:

• Assist with on-site 3D Laser Scanning Capture
• Entry level on CAD and willing to learn working with point clouds. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus
• Willing to learn to work with laser scan data (Point Clouds) on AutoCAD Software platforms, disciplines, and deliverables
• Generate as-built CAD models from laser scan data under supervision of Laser Scanning Specialist
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Work independently, be self-motivated, and have exceptional organizational and communication skills, maintain project accuracy, and working under supervision
• Capture scan data on-site using scanners and survey tools
• Capture control points to facilitate Geo-referencing of scan data using survey grade GPS
• Document facilities and sites with concise field notes and photo documentation
• Experience with total station, RTK GPS, and data collectors for use in the collection of field survey data is a plus
• Maintain proper care of the company equipment and ensure security and safety for yourself, all equipment, and accessories
