Green was responsible for the design of a replacement bridge for Taylor Street over Interstate 495. The Taylor Street Bridge is part of a larger improvement project which includes the Interstate 495 over Route 2, Interstate 495 over MBTA, and the Taylor Street over Interstate 495 bridges as well as Interstate 495 highway design.
Green designed a 300-foot long two-span continuous structure to replace the existing 5-span structure, opening up the sight lines along I-495. To meet an aggressive advertisement schedule, Green needed to complete the final design of the bridge using an accelerated schedule that provided less than two months to advance from the Sketch Plans Phase to the 90% Design submission. Green was able to successfully meet this aggressive schedule because our structural staff were very dedicated to this project worked extended days and weekends, while maintaining the high quality of work Green is known for.
