Our Lighting Design Group, Lumen Studio, is proud to announce that we were part of two projects receiving 2023 MERIT awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA).
North Meadow on The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy
Boston, MA
Thomson Place Plaza
Boston, MA

Firstly, in the General Design category, we designed the lighting for the North Meadow, part of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy project, located in Boston, MA. Serving as the park’s northern entrance, the North Meadow acts as a gateway to The Greenway, providing a spacious and inviting environment for residents and visitors to appreciate the surrounding neighborhoods.
Our role in bringing this space to life included a minimal and unobtrusive lighting design that encompassed the entire park. By incorporating soft bollard lights to gently illuminate the pathway and employing tree lighting to enhance the ambience, we successfully created an inviting atmosphere that encourages leisurely strolls toward various destinations within the city.
Additionally, the Thomson Place Plaza project, situated in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, was also recognized in the General Design category. This endeavor focused on the revitalization and adaptive reuse of historic mid-1800s industrial buildings. Our lighting responsibilities encompassed the design of a sophisticated catenary lighting system, complemented by custom support columns featuring integrated color-changing RGB LED lighting.
Congratulations to all the talented professionals who contributed to these award-winning projects!
