We‘re looking for the next innovative urban designer/planner to assist with providing creative solutions for our growing and diverse client base in the New England area.

The ideal candidate would bring a vigorous passion for community development and public outreach that will allow you to play an integral role for our Transportation Planning Group. Strong interpersonal and communication skills  are critical to approach the workload with flexibility and channel your internal drive to achieve results. Success will be defined by your ability to multi-task, feel confident in your professional capabilities, and empower yourself to work with limited direction.

On any given day, you will:

  • Work on several projects simultaneously while proactively collaborating with other team members.
  • Prepare graphics, drawings and renderings in support of planning activities to communicate complex concepts to the public, elected officials and other professionals.
  • Assist with preparation of boards, worksheets, and other materials for public/client meetings, workshops, charrettes, and project team meetings.
  • Create large planning documents with proficiency in layout, consistency, and attractive visual appearance.
  • Design and develop transportation planning studies and compile completed reports.
  • Attend evening meetings and assist with public hearings.
  • Participate in interviews and development of proposals, budgets, and project timelines.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master‘s degree in urban design, planning, architecture, or a closely related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant project experience.

 

Desired skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning and document production is desirable, as is knowledge of urban design, public engagement, and an interest in downtown redevelopment, urban design and place-making. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and other graphics programs is strongly preferred; Auto CAD and GIS software experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to create high quality graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics.
  • Self‐directed, motivated, collaborative, and professional, with ability to manage project deliverables, deadlines, and budgets.

Green is looking for a Senior Transportation Design Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience that is looking to advance to a Project Manager position. The successful candidate shall have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited school and a P.E. is preferred. The successful candidate should have experience in performing roadway geometric design and an ability to develop solutions for a range of transportation problems and needs. They should also be experienced in using AutoCAD (and/or Microstation) and be familiar with the Green Book and other key transportation-related guides and standards. Experience in design in accordance with the New England state transportation agencies’ guidelines and procedures is a plus. Excellent writing and speaking skills are essential as the selected candidate will be required to interact with internal project teams, state agencies, municipal review boards, and clients, as well as assisting the firm in the preparation of proposals. Green is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer or Planner with 5 to 10 years of experience and who is looking to advance to a Project Manager position. The successful candidate shall have a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning from an accredited school and a P.E. or AICP is preferred. The successful candidate should have experience in performing transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies for land development projects, evaluating Complete Streets, developing travel forecasts, and in completing traffic operational analyses using SYNCHRO, SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, etc.. The candidate should also be experienced in conducting/overseeing safety audit studies, traffic signal operations and design, using AutoCAD, and be very familiar with the MUTCD. Experience with State agencies is beneficial. Excellent written and verbal skills are essential as the selected candidate will be responsible for preparing study and design reports for clients, interacting with internal project teams, state agencies, municipal review boards and clients, as well as assisting the firm in the preparation of proposals. Green is looking for Entry Level Structural, Transportation and Water Resources Engineers with 0 to 3 years of experience. The successful candidate shall have a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.  This position requires no prior work experience so those who recently graduated or will be graduating this spring with the aforementioned degree are strongly encouraged to apply.  Please specify which discipline you are interested in pursuing as your career.  E.I.T. is preferred and CAD proficiency is a plus.
