Stormwater & Permitting

Stormwater

Our expertise includes designing innovative stormwater treatment systems that meet many budgets and project footprints while adhering to applicable environmental permit requirements. Our engineers have expertise in stormwater design, stormwater management and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, including drainage area delineations, peak flow rate calculations and water quality calculations. We have proven experience in the planning and design of stormwater management systems, and we routinely perform drainage design on our state agency and municipal transportation projects. We have helped municipalities, regional authorities, state agencies, federal agencies, and private clients protect receiving waters, and reduce flood damage costs throughout New England.

Permitting

Our Stormwater and Permitting Group has an in-depth understanding of local, state and federal permitting thresholds and we can readily determine the applicability of permit requirements to proposed projects and the potential cost and schedule impacts. Our team consists of professional engineers, environmental scientists, cultural resource specialists, land surveyors, and landscape architects. Working together, we can tailor a project’s design to most advantageously address the potential environmental impacts. Our permitting staff have extensive experience in navigating through permitting obstacles as well as working closely with the regulatory agencies to achieve permit approvals in a timely manner. The need for extensive environmental permitting can add considerable time onto project schedules. Our first effort on our projects is to look for ways to avoid and minimize environmental impacts as much as possible.

Wetland Services

Green provides wetland services to assist clients with the environmental permitting and mitigation process from site feasibility through final design and construction. We perform wetland delineation and assessment, natural resource evaluations, and wetland mitigation design. We are fully experienced in conducting wetlands delineation and wildlife habitat evaluations in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act as well as rare species habitat assessments under the Massachusetts Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program.
